Retributions for the Dead : Into the reflections of dismal depths

What we've today on "Retributions for the Dead" might be a little summary what I might left to rot from the past. Sometimes I'm just slipped or drowned with all great release that come out, and forgive me about that!

Tampa / Florida seem the best tomb to find deathmetall band. That also doesn't mean Tampa / Florida scene always produced a reeking-ugly, raw and putrid stuff every years, at least there are some bands that crawling from these places sometimes got my attentions. Beyond of that gory years, maybe there a couple of worthy bands may you should festering and reeking for if you need some crushing deathmetall, and here I brought to you, old rotting 'Tampa' deathmetall, VACUOUS DEPTHS!

There was a member changes from VACUOUS DEPTHS since their started back then, it's a naturally rotting-decomposition process of band journey and with Austin  (Vocal / Guitars), Joey Harris (Drum) and Arturo Palomo (Bass) the band definitely will be rotting more after this.

"Demo 2017" was their first debut demo, and it's actually out in digital version through their band'tomb back in the day, and I've just found out that GoatThrone Records will release this debut demo by VACUOUS DEPTHS onto pro tape-cassette for the first time. (I think Aaron Comos did a good job here to releases this underrated stuff) 

This is a very heavy and crushing-chaotic of deathmetall demo. Lots of groove-heavy-rotting riffs that VACUOUS DEPTHS created on this demo and sometimes make me remember of Obituary "Slowly we rot" musical styles. I also think that this demo sounde(a)d better from your expectation that you couldn't easily pass it off. The production of the demo, incredibly insane and have good touch on the final master by Patrick Brady! and it's more disgusting with Austin's voices on its. I love this kind of sing styles : it’s totally ugly, it’s disgusting and totally no filter till end of the song. Ugh!

I think the first impression totally the main factor (sometimes not actually) when you play a certain stuff, is how it's sounde(a)d on the first tracks. The opening tracks from the demo, "Sodomized" totally throw me rotting in deep of bottomless pit of grave immediately! Also tracks like "Black Anvil" and the following track “Graunt Reflections” both show incredibly heavy combinations of slow to mid paced parts that often flow in severed up tempo of classick styles of deathmetall. The guitars distortion / tones is so heavy fvcking brutal and there are several tempo or beat changes on the middle of the songs but to reeked this song decompositions ; it's totally crushing! Also the last tracks from the demo, "Human Compost" doesn’t drifted away from previous tracks, that rotting riffs and the open play parts from this song totally contribute in filling the flavor of stench of rotting decompositions on this demo. Loved how it's ende(a)d! 

A little write up for the cover arts of this demo, I personally loved how Stephen / Meatballgrinder illustrated the full cover and insert for this release, it's totally amazing work by him and definitely perfect disgust and filthy enough with VACUOUS DEPTHS music. 

To be honest, it's totally enjoyable demo to be listen with a slow and heavy crushing sound of old deathmetall with a max volume of dirtiness on it's and it's probably will rotting yours up! To final putrefying, another pure-disgusting, filthy extreme gnarly and rotten stuff that you should checks, VACUOUS DEPTHS have all this feel!

It's been fvcking awhile, I don't really remember when the last time I wrot(t)e(n) a review for this site. Been murky, drowned and dragging through the name of "daily messy job-life" Ha! This is my first updated on this ugly-graveyard since November 2018.

I think some of you already know the existence of SEPOLCRO, so I'll skip the 'beat' for the band introduction on here.

"Amorphous Mass" EP was the latest offer by this Italian / USA old school Death Metal after "Undead Abyss" demo / 2018. "Amorphous Mass" EP crawled with the first track called "The Malevolent Mist" with a hellbell-creepy sounding intro before the crushing-skank-beat drum breaking into one of the heaviest opening track that I've listen this years. Really loved the heavy-pounding drum by Hannes on this track. The leads on previous track, "Sulphurous Eruption From The Depths" and "Unnamed Dimension" just show more how old death metal can be sounded sewer and brutal-filthy more enough! The variation of tempo / riff or even the song structure on this tracks proved that SEPOLCRO really work out on this new release. Need more putrid sound from Nor's bass tones? Just listen to this EP! Loved the heavy-distort came out stink from the bass! Just when you thought your journey came to ends, the last track on this EP "Amorphous Mass" once again manages to bring me back from the dead, listen to heavy crunchy-riffing, sewercide deep growled and brutal-beat changes tempo from time to time, how rotting this track to closed the creation of "Amorphous Mass" EP? SICK!

In rotting words of "Amorphous Mass" EP, this is my favor one! and sometimes, without a solo guitar you surely can writing and (de)composed a very good death metal song. To add more putrid-stink flavor, Hannes should given a big rotting credits beyond this "Amorphous Mass" EP production. He managed to created very brutal-heavy-sick (you named its!) atmosphere on this release, and least not before I'm getting rotting, salute to César Valladares, which illustrated perfectly the "Amorphous Mass" EP cover.

From the time summoning and how the murky-reeking melody-blast from this EP, the production of "Amorphous Mass" EP definitely one of "essential" death metal release coming out on 2019, this EP have everything that you need and I'm expecting more from them after this. "Amorphous Mass" EP, coming out in May, 2019 in CD and LP in rotting corpse'peration with Unholy Domain Records and for all tape-maggot, Dismal Fate Records will handling the ugly one!

Retributions for the Dead : The epitome of putrid and rotting piles on "Undead Abyss"

We've already entering the half crypt of 2018 and the list of rotting death metal demo is never endless. I'm quiet remember the day I received Sepolcro's Festering Evocation demo in my mail, it's was few years ago and today once again I was drowned again when I received a news from Hannes that Sepolcro will ripping the flesh again with another new demo via Unholy Domains Records. There always ugly things that you can't change from the past, from how much this music already develop and quick crawled and infected the underground scenes. For me, Italian Death Metal-Underrrrground scenes always special to me. From the maniac, label, and the bands, and therefore so much filthy places around the tomb get surrounded by the burial fog in here, so many sick-disgusting music was born to make the legion of dead awake and festering the phlegm. It's was a good places to say for the underground fans to lived by. 

Much like countless other bands, Sepolcro is fulfilled with tons of surprise in their career so far, I mean the band have releasing a demo, what we called it "Festering Evocation" back in 2013, a split with Presumed Dead and later on decide to buried alive the band. The latest news that I heard, Hannes Delbello was involved with Ruptured and managed to released a demo called "Blurred Vision" demo last years. 

Short of rotting filthy, Sepolcro back with three 'rotting-putrid-ugly' tracks demo on "Undead Abyss". From 'Undead Abyss' into ugly skansk dead-beat on 'The Edge Of Infinity', the demo production gives me a impression that the release is likely straight from the early 90's, although at times will quick bring you into Autopsy 'Mental Funeral' mood. The raw-devastated sound just creepy and the filler of bones-crushing tones are totally enjoyable and the progressions between each tracks uniquely soundead very original and perfectly blend. The early intro and slow-paced on 'Bone Totem' possibly may distinguished the fact and you'll loved this tracks and drowned into the vocal pains. It's really doesn't matter if it's end like other Autopsy's song, Sepolcro just created their own rotting filthy misery with this song. My favourites tracks so far and you can't deny the putrid vibe! 

The three tracks Sepolcro provide you in "Undead Abyss" demo just pure with raw and putrid-pile death metal composed that is the ugly intent on severing into yours fvcking bones. Extremely filthy-disgusted sounding and all the ghoulish from Sepolcro knew exactly how a death metal should soundead with dirty production-mixed on studio. "Undead Abyss" demo  is almost the perfect death metal demo in 2018 so far!

Don't missed out "Undead Abyss" demo, it's just fvcking awesome old school death metal been wrot(t)en and does everything absolutely right on time. Yes, it’s maybe been done before and tons of band already put some high-end echoes to the music, but this is simply – putrid rotting death metal . It’s only a demo, and myself indeed just loved every demo's feel. 

Retributions for the Dead : Out of the conscious, in the meadows of sorrow....

Chilean darkness horror of old death metal, MORTIFY festering the last slumber coffins of 2017 with their first full length album, "Mortuary Remains". Horror and dark atmosphere embedead from the early of the album and the smell of rotten corpse sound production beyond the unholy grave, will accompany you by and  MORTIFY will thrown yours into the deep-bowel of your rotting grave, decomposed and been eaten by the maggots on final path of "Mortuary Remains" album.

Short but sick, MORTIFY start somewhere in Concepción, Biobío and get handed to the dark soul of horror with their first debut demo release, "Sadistic Carnage" back in 2013 and two years gone and rotting on their own chamber of death, the band managed to released the "Cryptic" EP on 2015 which I believe the continuing for the new stuff that coming from the bands on 2017.

"Mortuary Remains" is quite example and proof what the real old of Death Metal taste, from the riffs, drum beat, song composing/structure, slicing vocal style and the filthy old school production on the album. It's just pure

classic formula been used again and been added on with mellow solo guitar-work that work perfectly on the album. I'm really enjoy how Cristian Fuentes cut his throat to sang on the album and his voices totally sick from track by track and make me believed the voice are coming from filthy hell! Another things that I dig from MORTIFY "Mortuary Remains" album is the horror melody that embalmed from the tracks, it's fvcking real horror that can be inspired someone to robbing the grave! The mix of mid-tempo and slow to the fvcking death metal styles are the real ingredients on "Mortuary Remains" album and it's so difficult for me to choose my favourites tracks from the albums seem every song have their own horror presentation and feel.

Machalia Records handle the "Mortuary Remains" album and it's so fvcking good that the album out in old analog fvcking tape. Another promising stuff crawl from Chilean underground death metal cemetery you should never miss! Unleashed the ancient horror of death! 

Retributions for the Dead : Towards.. Fate! and the calling of death.

France always delivered most prominent old death metal band from the past years. That doesn't mean their always produced more ugly and stinky stuff every years, at least there some bands that crawling from these country always my favor one. Parts of that, there a couple of worthy bands you should festering for if you need some devastatingly tunes, and here I presents you, Paris old rotting death metal-mongers, TOWERING!

"Towards Fate" demo which contains only two tracks are ready for listening on their bandcamp and physical copies of tape can be ordered from Impurity Production. In the process of rotting on "Towards Fate" demo, the band successfully writing back the old fvcking formula of death with their unique and interesting sounds and pulverising my ears with an heavily tones of riffs. The demo might be turn up little bit crunchy on the sound production, but it's rotting enough for my taste!

Short, and pure regurgitated two tracks demo but the heavy-pounding and crunchy rotting guitar riffing, instantly drive you into other places and the reconnected between the rotting melody, which I think really good and should be remarked their existence on the unholy ground. "Towards Fate" demo also show the band have stability on the instrument handle and sensibility in songwriting. If you hope the sound feeling from a filthy-murky and smell fvcking basement-sounding death metal demo you'll got on here too, but in other parts of the roots music foundations and evolution. Listening to the "The Calling", with rotting fast-slowly-heavy death of song structure and mid-temp paced approach on the mid of the song just gain the momentum for you rewind back into the first track. The well-timed torture-throat vocal enters on early parts from the second tracks was a places a good as well. Beyond of that, it's just death, rotting, sick sound have been produced by the band on this demo.

"Towards Fate" demo are surprisingly give me a vibe of heavy sound of old death metal whats I need for, driven onward (into Golgotha) and just let me rot on the final hecatomb of the demo. Rotting favor for old death-mongers fans and let's waits for the debut album! The dead is coming!

I'm just turned up myself to open up the email after long error multi connections and the coffin-sites look horrifying and terrifying enough after almost a few months without a new updates. The (sun)lights look really brights when I click and read up a message that coming from Sean Benson. A ugly man beyond the creation of BOETHIAH, the California "chainsaw" dirty Death Metal bastards! 

BOETHIAH reveal their self-titled EP few month ago after the broken chaos of "Agents of the Dawn" back in 2014 and guess what? This is my first time know about their existences, better late than rotting forever! The bell of death just opened up the gloomy and ugly dark atmosphere from the EP, it's really great intro on "Invocation of the Xenolith", crunchy riffs and melodeath as fvck! The music style that they did firmly crushed back what happen in Sweden underground scene back in early 90's. And I'm sure all the Entombed, Dismember,Grave fans surely will loved what  BOETHIAH doing!  

Anything that I need seek for, the EP just deranged in very short of times and it's also featured a cover song from Grave ; In Love. The production of the EP just heavy and kept the pouring of BOSS Heavy Metal-2 pedal monstrous through the expeditions on the EP. Loved the stench smell from this pedal!

Sean's voices was a vile and growl enough on the song and it's really fits onto the harmonies between the riff's guitar that fill up the structure with the beat beyond Derek's seats. It's just trailing the undead with dirty

and buzz productions. With Sean and Derek combination, they just put doses "massive 'killing' capacity" of Death Metal on the EP and to be cruel and nothing to be left-over, the dirty and rotting chainsaw tones always the good one to be heard! The time I writing this review, the band already unleashed their debut album "Invocation Of The Xenolith". Just check it's out for your dirty and rotting "buzz" chainsaw mind!

Retribution for the Dead : Enter the horror dimensions of.... "Chamber of Laments"

If you one of DEATH METAL-Underground gravedigger, you maybe familiar with a name of 'Uriel Aguillon' - A rotting man beyond of Morbicus, Cannabis Sative, Pyrophoric, Gutwrench, Rotting Away, Cryptic Realm and another band that I loved so much, NECRORITE!  Uriel Aguillon should require no long introduction when came to DEATH METAL, he knows how to make it's and what the best flavor to make it's more ugly and disgusting one! And here, I presented to you a brand new DEATH METAL project that him worked for, VORUS!

I much dig all music that Uriel Aguillon worked with NECRORITE before and with VORUS, I founde(a)d something new and fresh that might him create and probably cemented directly into other side of my deadbrains. "Chamber of Laments" Demo definitely comes with good song arrangements-structures, horror-melodies and will remains (rotting) as one of my favorites Death Metal demo releases in 2017. 

"Chamber of Laments" Demo contains three song that spawned onto the old-premature DOD'S burial session, straight forward and catchy song, and it's just take you around 2-4 minutes for a song and delivered of mid/fast paced of old fashioned Death Metal with total ripping-rotting riff's guitar, double attack on the bass drums and grunt-ranged 

mid growls by the master himself. There are some interesting parts from the song, that got my deadbrains : froze and burning! The productions of the demo still heavier out from Uriel Aguillon touches on the final productions, Those riff's with heavy-distortions and anger-aggressive approach especially on 'Where Misery Crawls' and that 'doomier to the death' parts on this songs just show us another re-awakening Uriel Aguillon ability to create a new dimension of horror-dark Death Metal atmosphere.

Just hope there will another release after "Chamber of Laments' demo, and for those seem hold the old school Death-banner just give a chances listen up to VORUS. It's worthy for you to check!

Retribution for the Dead : Necroticism fermenting the gurgling prey.. The gory autopsy of "Anatomy"

I still remember listening to CARCASS "Reek Of Putrefaction" album back then, I thought the tape that I bought from local records store are broke and just think to replace the tape within another records from that store, but it's not happen. Listening for the first fvcking time, It's just fully noise and trench-vomit-disgusted vocal that I think the sound production of the tape really fvcking raw and lo-fi ever and time always leaves, the first CARCASS's album still one my favourites release, no matter how many band on this rotting earth try embalmed or even emerged the gory-gore-gruesome benchmark again.

Time rolled by, maybe forgotten and rotting decompose but PUTRID OFFAL still on the disgusting path of death spread their own "cadaver-disease" madness since the early 90's to us. Only time will tell, when "Unformed" Demo was unleash in April, 1991 how seriously the band have been festering for. Sick! Gore and death splatter madness! PUTRID OFFAL was have along dead nightmare dreams in the mid of 90's, and the final excrement for the first full length only came in 2015. Personally, the band doing a good comeback after along hiatus. PUTRID OFFAL still there, spreading the smelly, filthy and gore-putrid-rancid messy of Death to the Grind flavor sound and beware it's might the quite turning point for your neighbours lodge a reports if you turn your speaker volume into the high max when you listening to the brand new EP releases by the band, "Anatomy"!

"Anatomy" EP featured a two new tracks and some song that taken from the band live festering and I thinks it's really awesome to listen "Gurgling Prey" again and fvcking again! What's else you need when the smell of rotting carcass stinky around your side, and the gore ceremony just begins in the first ever you hit the button play. Do you know what you dwells for when come to the terms Death/Grind? fast tempo, complex 'carcass' song structure and the flesh ripping-rotting riff's will rotting in the air and it's sure fun as hell when you catch the band alive!

The production of "Anatomy" not so clean and not so dirty that you try skipped the tracks on the EP, it's just contains an dirty atmosphere and smelling bad to your nose or in other ways to speak this is how Death Metal and Grindcore can be rot together. 

The two new tracks that featured in this EP, 'Anatomy' and 'Didactic Exploration' are unstoppable madness! Sometime you can't ignore how heavy the first two song on this EP slashing and cutting your bowels. "Anatomy" EP just show to those that reclaim themselves "gore maniac" the real merciless torture of autopsy, and the really means of brutal fvcking madness! The "Anatomy" EP came in 3-disgust panel Digipack CD released by XENOKORP, just hit your heads to the label and grab your copies.

Retribution for the Dead : Where "Pillars of Vengeance" grow? And the violent dark art from Edinburgh.

The Edinburgh dark-melodic Death/Doom, WOLF SERMON swirling my head this recent days like a crazy-ultra fast roller coaster. As I was listening to their first demo release that was unleash in 2016, I thought to myself that I need to come up with a full wake up energize on my brains. This is how Death Metal can be turn in a very good way or meant to be played, and you can't say no to the terms of heavy-dry of melodies tones from Death Metal creation. Simply will trap on your mind after skip your lunch time. Ha!

Those fans of old - At The Gates, Unanimated, Dark Tranquillity, and Dismember "Massive Killing Capacity" and "Where Ironcrosses Grow" era will definitely loved what WOLF SERMON already delivered and for those who enjoyed the first demo by WOLF SERMON would have a chance to dig a quite potential directly from this band and for those are not familiar to the terms of dark-melodic will be finally introduced on this 4 track demo's and maybe can tell you, sometime heavy work in melodic structure can bring a new vibe or sense to the Death Metal dirty landscapes.

The demo starts with a horror-sample dialogue that barely open up the mood through the demo. "Pagan Skin" directly deliver a high aggression to the atmosphere and the fast-ripping heavy of guitar riffs just straightly to your heads. "Pagan Skin" are build in very complex structure and been added with the mid-paced tempo between the fast and slow beat phrase, while you can spotted speeds things up on this song will generally changes after two phrase.

The band perfectly emerged some of my old memories from the Swedish "melodic" Death Metal bands and the heavy-crunchy guitar sound that may be sounded little similar to the Boss HM-2 will crack up for those listen to the demo. I guess Amarog and Jack Vincent perfectly created very good combinations between the rhythm's or riff's section. The demo by WOLF SERMON also show, how good the part of lead solo slaughtered, representing and approach on their song. Melodic, harmonised and sometimes reach the high climax of the fret.

In addition how great the demo was, the howl-sick-throat growled style by Baron serve the dark-heavy melodies throughout the songs and Baron's voices on track like "Violent Art" or "Pillars of Vengeance" just show us how great his voices representative the creation of WOLF SERMON. "Never Hunt Alone" are very little faster with own way, the blast beat drumming by Grzeg invaded the song atmosphere and introduced how fits and strongest him on the back seat of the band and handle the whole melodic-death landscapes from this demo. Fast! and it's totally pieces of violent arts hammered!

There no highlight track from the demo, seem all the tracks stand-out alone and sounded good to my ears and WOLF SERMON debut demo just show the real gigantic what will turn in the future from their side. Grimly, dark and simply of melo-death!  All track in "Demo 2016" by WOLF SERMON is total ears listening-punishing or even the final torture for those loyal to the early days of Swedish "melodic" Death Metal. With the heavy-fat-dry tones, the demo prevails the old classick fashioned melodic Death Metal in brutality ways and it's really turn well in terms of sound, song writing/decompose and the level that the band already dwell within. Get it now from Carvetii Productions! This one is a must hear Death Metal demo-release! And, I hope will listen more "Slaughter of the Soul" tunes from the band in the future.

Retribution for the Dead : Grave desecration on the feeble minded!

Another bands that I need to write their names on my "Best of Death Metal Demo" release list of 2017, even way their coming and festering the rotting decay from the HC / Crust Punk scene and embalmed the old-good memories of the "Harmony Corruption" and "Slowly We Rot" album vibe. I've my own reason why HIDEOUS CREEP really blew my mind and got my stand-up / crosses hands. I'm still believed to create and write a good Death Metal band / song it's must started and filled up with the Punk attitude / flavor. If you think it's beyond your fvcking relief or maybe you can't stand with the ethics, just listen to the mighty Discharge!

HIDEOUS CREEP featuring members of previous bands like TOTES BRUTE, TRIPPING CORPSE and DISPARA. To brick another wall of dead, a dose of Crust/Grindcore tunes been injected to HIDEOUS CREEP sound and created a really "stand-out" sound of production from the demo that the band have release. And I must say, I already fall and trap with their debut demo that sound very thick and make me go back to the memories of lane, and sometime it's just remind me the "Morrisound" memories.

The band have release a brand new demo in 2017, and I've a chance to listen to that demo and it's quite justifiable that "2nd Demo" by HIDEOUS CREEP is widely considered to the real quote of Punk and Grindcore in general and been mixed with a groovy touch from the Death Metal ingredients. HIDEOUS CREEP had already laid down the tombstones for a new extremity within Crust Punk / Grindcore or even in Death Metal music.

Just imagine the grind-mixed between Obituary / Napalm Death / Discharge in one final pots, and you got "2nd Demo" on the result! Songs were played in short time, played at mid-paced tempo and simply you can't feel the tracks already been change. Riffs were near to the ripping-fast changed side of fret, and giving a greater continuity to the songwriting process. The process of build up a song comeside with a crunchy-strum, and the ridden of the bass / guitar, has play the compartment in the most ugliest jiggling way and disgusting accompany by grunt-vilest growling vocal styles.

You also can heard a competition running between the guitar and drum on the song, the mostly justifiable grind riffs and ultra-blast beat in more greatness! Second demo by HIDEOUS CREEP just show me the real connection between Death Metal and Punk-mangle sound.

To cut it all, the second demo by HIDEOUS CREEP is well produced, and the demo just filling up my room with an insanely-raw fat sound. And HIDEOUS CREEP are the band that you need to caught up again if you have miss the "Harmony Corruption" and "Slowly We Rot" era. I'm happy to add, HIDEOUS CREEP already bring back the lost part from the Grindcore sound and emerged with their own madness. Total mangle!

Retribution for the Dead : The stench smell of Death!

KRYPTA may hailing from Milano, Italy, but the sound beyond the "In Torment" EP make me think that they crawled and festering out from Stockholm. The band started to spawned the dark-path of dead when Dorian (Guitarist) meet Emilian and Vlaad to join the creation of KRYPTA. This three-piece Old School "Swedish" Death Metal maggot has put a fully dedicated to the classic "Sunlight" sound trademark and it's really good to recall all again this buzzsaw tunes on here.

KRYPTA plays a style of Death Metal that is very heavily rooted in the early 90's of Swe-Death, the production sounds very heavy and the final mix-master for "In Torment" EP on Nowherecrypt really turn in very good result. "In Torment" EP, just show up that it's may be sounded more like Dismember, Entombed or other country-mate, Daemoniac but it's still be can considered as good release and those that loved all Swedish Death Metal classick-sound may be loved what KYRPTA played.

"In Torment" EP contained a numerous of heaviness touch since the EP started to spin off, from heavy-flesh ripping riff's, mellow-death melodies, deep-growled, grinding-blast-beat and the attack of double bass drum. All of that things are perfectly match onto the song and heavy influence the music that you listen to and KRYPTA show how to blend between the fast-slow tempo in this EP in very good of way, it's just naturally come to sense and you can spot that on "Doomed to be" or "The Stench of Death". "In Torment" is an uncompromising throwback to the days when Entombed started and all the track from the EP give me an chilled around my neck.  The EP are well-writing and you should know a band like KRYPTA that put a lot of works to rebuild the stink-atmosphere on "In Torment" EP can be deliver more incantation contents on the next release

Swedish Death Metal always a good music and have their own cherish of flavor to me, from the structure of the song to Boss HM-2 pedal monster box that really got me since I got my first "Left Hand Path" album back then. To wrath up the final words for "In Torment", this is old school Swedish Death Metal style that played by KRYPTA with a fully passion and devotions for this style and nothing more or less, it's just showed how much Swe-Death infected the worldwide DM band to pay a homage to this music. I very much enjoyed this EP, and recommend you to give a listen.

Retribution for the Dead : The Beastiality of "Voima On Oikeutta"

Finland has always produced a sickos Death Metal band from year to year. Death Metal-Underground in there always catch my ears, and certainly this is the real excitement of the madness for someone who digs all the "wierdos-ick" or "unusual" Death Metal! There is a certain feeling for me to choose the country that leads to the day of glorious Death Metal, but I always believe that Finland always gives me a goosebumps when it comes to Death Metal.

The founder of CALIGARI RECORDS introduced me a band that hailing from Nokia, Finland. Firstly, I might thought maybe this is just like other "mass-clones" Death Metal band that rise up this recent day, but fvck me! HUORIPUKKI not just like other Death Metal that tagged themself as a pure and total death madness,

HUORIPUKKI deserved a very high recommendation or praise and what the band do and the "disgusting" left-hand-path that their create since their first debut demo in 2008 will make the Finnish Death Metal underground scene look more strongest than before. The band already put numerous demo release since they scratch-crawling from the Pirkanmaa-graveyards. No other relevant topic or long introduction about the band for me to speak on here but HUORIPUKKI just keep my ears alert on the band path.

Here come the Beastiality of satanic death!

The latest "disgusting" and total death cassette-tape releases from CALIGARI RECORDS featured "Voima On Oikeutta" by  HUORIPUKKI, a brand new EP after the re-birth of "Barbaria.nyt" EP last years. The whole creation of "Voima On Oikeutta" EP will show how Death Metal should be played in evil and raw ways without fvcking tricky or trend. "Maailma Haudaksi" just opened up all the stink-rotting and morbid-satanic atmosphere from the EP with some classic screaming that will remind you the "The scream of rot" in "Left Hand Path" album by Entombed. The gloomy-crunch-riff's and the beat from the snare and bass drum just perfectly matches with the song atmosphere. Just pure disgusting and bestiality of evil on the first track and you can guess what you dwells for!

"Voima On Oikeutta" EP also are very strongest in terms of song decomposition and you can soft spot some barbaric-blackened parts that the band nailed will turn on your analog-volume into the high max, and "Antropomorfia" will show you a very straight-forward song decomposition and the old-primitive grinding beat with a carcass voices will torn you apart! HUORIPUKKI know how to blend and put the best and raw flavor on this 4 tracks EP and delivered to your evil soul of evil-satanic sound of Death Metal almost 17 minutes in "Voima On Oikeutta", and it's just fully of merciful death, and their music should belong to all fans that dig the real taste of Death Metal in more darkest ways!

The cover artworks for "Voima On Oikeutta" EP look in simple-sketch of the dead skull, but overall the sound that coming out from the EP will satisfied your rotting evil soul. I need to rewind back the first track on the EP before I get ready to listen up for the next track and it's just show "HUORIPUKKI's-spell of dead" already cursing into my rotting head again! It's a cool release by CALIGARI RECORDS and heading toward to the hell-tomb to grab your copies. UGLY DEATH!

Retribution for the Dead : Banished in Utopia... Rotten and merciless death!

Обрій (Obrij) completely rotting and crawling out from Uzhhorod-graveyards, Ukraine. Обрій (Obrij) was formed back in 2013 by some rotting-corpse from SKRUTA, DISPLEASE and SOULREST. There has equation surrounding me when I listen to "Олтар Утопії" (Altar of Utopia), that I think Обрій (Obrij) has work in very good Old School Death Metal formation and structure with mid-tempo paced, heavy-slowly groove and the never-end story of battlefield-war / massacre topic. It's will remind you some "Bolt Thrower" sound but fvck yeah it's totally fresh and still sound very solid in mostly parts from "Олтар Утопії" (Altar of Utopia) EP production.

"Олтар Утопії" (Altar of Utopia) contained 4 tracks in the running period between Old School Death vibe, Death 'n' Roll riff's, head-bang down atmosphere and slumber rejoin up with some melo-death ruptured from old Bolt Thrower, Morgoth and Sentenced. The first track from the "Олтар Утопії" (Altar of Utopia), "Весь світ перед нами" totally welcome you in very deepest side on the Обрій (Obrij) creation, that riff's from first tracks just slaughtered and bounded by deep-growled sing! There some melodies from the first tracks that totally will caught you and will show you how the real formation of slow-mid-temp of Death works. Just a good tracks to re-opening and accompany you into the river of war! The second tracks "Поля Камбоджі" has showed Обрій (Obrij) really good handling their instrument, the attacked between double-bass drum and "lost-punch" riff's styles pretty marching with the end of guitar's melodies, I never expected the song will end up like that, but the feeling just going towards along side the story of Cambodian war. If you asked me my standing tracks from "Олтар Утопії" (Altar of Utopia), it's definitely goes for the third track and the last one in this EP. "Доторкнутися до зірок" just touch with numerous limitation of heavy-crunchy guitar / solo works, the track totally invaded all the real tunes from "Олтар Утопії" (Altar of Utopia) in very simple-straight forward song decomposition and "Відголоски Великої битви" just pleasant you in very aggressive mood and twisted mind-blow song structure. 

This release probably come up with a good vibe of sound production and it's just dwell and festering all the real fans that loved the stench-smell of Old-Death Metal formation. "Олтар Утопії" (Altar of Utopia) are written in very gloomy-dark mood and a lot of aggression-paced slowly brought me  into the battle-field attack mode, unleave and rotten forever on the war-fields! And all the lyrics are written in Ukrainian language, that I think I can only understand for the melodies of the song and the atmosphere that invaded in the whole running time of "Олтар Утопії" (Altar of Utopia) EP. 

…and Altar of Utopia just made my day going good! Cool underrated stuff and looking for more from this Ukrainian bands in the future!

Retribution for the Dead : Dwoom "Pale Mare - Demo MMXVIII", The crushing doom of HM-2!

This maybe a reason why some people outhere prefer to live alone by itself. "If you have negative characteristics feel, they are very difficult to get ridden of because you tend to think that the world owes you a death for your work and are not being treated fairly to your kindness" UGH!

Much say, I'm really dig all David Nilsson works with FERAL before. And to be more priceless here, FERAL 2nd full length album "Where Dead Dreams Dwell" still my longest running playlist after all. I'm really excited when I heard a news that, David Nilsson also one of the member beyond this Swedish "crushing" Doom Metal creation, DWOOM! To brief some history of DWOOM, the tales of creation already started back in 2010 around Skellefteå-tomb, Sweden. There will be a reason why the band takes a long times and years to produced their first stuff to the ground. Beside David Nilsson, there some members from FERAL like Viktor Klingstedt (Bass) / Markus Lindahl (Guitars) and also featured Gustav Lund from Blister Brigade on vocal departments. The final d(w)oom side look completed!

"Pale Mare" demo opened by "Fallen Again" tracks and it's followed by a clean melo and solo guitars in the beginning, the clean-singing from the 80's era of Doom styles and the ruptured-chainsaw of Boss HM-2 provided all the dark atmosphere in the early side  of the demo. And of corpse! The crunchy tones HM-2 will be a red highlights in here. I might spotted some doses of old school Death Metal riff's and vocal styles (slowly attempt) through DWOOM song. The song structure look straighten-forward decomposition and got unbound with a weird-dark melodies. And there a trap I'll avoid, the classic(k)al music direction on the way of climax reaching on the song. Doomier enough for a little freaks like me! 

Great work on the riff's / solo / song melodies and perfectly mixed by Gustan Lund rough-voices slowly make the "Pale Mare" demo crushing the empty temples. This 17 minutes of groovy (buzzsaw) and epic crushing doom will approach your head down into the ground! The dark-delusional ideas that DWOOM created and the motion sick on "Pale Mare" demo will be a standstill place for the doomier to the dead fans to grab  and try to be regurgitate what some doom metal bands left from the past

With  a dark-occult and heavy sound production that came from the little HM-2, DWOOM managed build a very great mixture between (old) doom and old school Death Metal with this pedal monster and bringing up all the creation on the "Pale Mare" demo into another dimension of demon.

Retribution for the Dead : .... into the Reek Of Martyr, spread the brutality plague!

The combination between Old School Death Metal and some sickos "modern" tunes of DM , sometimes will turn in very good way. Atleast the music was played by the correct person or musician, and for those obsessed by the real tunes of DM. And of corpse! we don't talk about fvcking technical stuff here, Ha!

Gustav Myrin, Pelle Ekegren, and Wolfgang Rothbauer, a past-corpse members from BLOOD MORTIZED / GRAVE / ZOMBIE INC, to mention few name of (DOD-disease!) who spread the plague beyond the creation of REEK OF MARTYR. It's just a great formation between those to created the stunning and dark-obscure atmosphere on "Heretic" EP. 

The first tracks from "Heretic" EP, "Crawl Through The Devil" directly put my ears and mind gone into the ancient sound of DM. Not for the rawness taste like before, but the heavy-blasting, dirty rotten-punchy riff's and heavy-growling voices by Wolfgang Rothbauer look very differently for me, sometimes more darkest and far beyond the achievement for someone and it's also make clearly that "Heretic" probably been mixing and produced in very solid ways. That's why, the first tracks from the EP already caught me for few more second in terms of sound producing. "Heretic" EP also proved that REEK OF MARTYR are fully done their works and make a twisted-difference side from what they doing in the past with their old bands. It's a same passion towards the death like before but this times Gustav Myrin, Pelle Ekegren and Wolfgang Rothbauer put alot of aggression and make its more brutal, slicing the throat without mercy and dismembered all the heavy-tab on guitar. REEK OF MARTYR seem look strongest in terms of song-writing, tracks like "Of Aeons And Blood" coming out with a fast-slow beats combination and the mellow-solo guitar already hiking the high pitch of that EP. 

To end this suffer, REEK OF MARTYR probably successful spread the ugly disease among the sick-society almost half of hour in "Heretic" EP. This 4 tracks promotional demo stand alone with his own character, and it's very good in terms of sound producing, song-decompositions and how heavy they slaughtered all the songs directly to your fvcking bones!!

Retribution for the Dead : World... (slowly rotten) and unraveled in putrefaction ways!

Something festering and malky around California-DM underground scene, the putrid process of rotting cadaver can be smell over the miles way. Unlike the other place from US, California are like a forgotten tombs for some of us, (maybe I also) and the dead can walk free among the corpses, eaten the human flesh, been buried, decompose and (carnal) leftover for thousand of years. Sometimes, it's really interesting to know a band that nailed from this rotten places.

DRAGHKAR was unbounde(a)d and repugnancy by BW (Guitar/Vocals) and AK (Drums). And without any long decaying, DRAGHKAR completed all the recording-putrid process in January, 2017 for the first attempt into the ground of madness. 

World... (slowly rotten) and unraveled 

"World Unraveled" demo successful delivered a reek of stench-decay guitar riffs tones, classick "stinky" beat-blasting, drowned-hellish growl-howling and followed by the rawness of stink atmosphere from the sound producing, which I think Derek Orthener and Andrew Lee totally lost their head (idea) for the invocation of DRAGHKAR first demo. The final result in "World Unraveled" demo totally slicing my ears!

The "Autopsy" feels can't be hide through the opening tracks from the demo. The combination between heavy-groove riffing, fast and (slowly-we-rot) tempo and accompany by the flesh ripping atmosphere, quickly make this tracks one of my favourites. "World Unraveled" demo also contained alot of creative idea in terms of the song-writing and decomposition. It's actually a examples how old stuff of Death Metal can be recycle and wrote it's agains with our styles and put it's in a stinky-cemetery with our own flavor. DRAGHKAR also featured a alot of thing from the characteristic of instrument-handle section. This is the best answer why Death Metal can be sounded more sick interesting and putrid when you take care yours instrument and always keeping it's out without a "mamstein" solo guitar! Ha! DRAGHKAR already proved the external way of Death Metal should sounded and played in "World Unraveled" demo. All the songs from the demo immediately showed and proved, DRAGHKAR are the last rotten missing puzzle-pieces for you to put it's back in Death Metal boards in terms of ugly and rotting decompose. 

Without long explanation, the band swallowed the high passion and loved to music what they played. DRAGHKAR played almost 10 + + minutes contained of most solid sound of Old School Death Metal in putrefaction ways and reveled by the classick sound of Finnish DM and can caught your ears and slowly make you drowned into nowhere in final mixtures of "World Unraveled" demo! Still a thousand rotting miles to go, hopefully the band will be successive and delivering a tons of sick and rotting stuff in the future. 

I think Jerasak from Witchhammer Production already done a good job to released a rotten-sick Death Metal stuff to us. Support the Death Metal-underground scenes!
