Critical Madness : CORPSEREAPER "Rehearsal" / Tape

I heard and know about the existence of Corpsereaper from DARAHHEAD Zine, issue 2 around six years ago. The band was hailing from Kuantan, Pahang, Malaysia and not so much information that I managed digging about the existence of the band right now, the latest news that I got, is some of the old lineup of the band reform another bands which some of you might know about it's. Corpsereaper was lead by Rizal  (voc/guitar), Man (bass) and Black (drum) and this rehearsal tape contained 3 song which I thought the proof the band still existing and festering on my local dods-scenes and also there are two version of tape cover for this releases.

I've nothing problem to dwell with the production seem like they have plan to record this tape live under the raw 'funeral' of studio. This is a very primitive releases in term of sound production, the way the band delivered the old feel of demo tape and I thought it's very good to keep this releases on my collection and I'm just loved all the raw, filthy and harsh sound that coming out from this tape.

"Morbid Thrash Hammer" open up with the low and brutality riffing on this rehearsal tape, by the way I can barely hear some people talked on the end of the track, Ha! This is why I liked very much all the live recording styles, without proper mixing and it's just like fresh meat on the first hand for you. "Darkside Possessor" is give some straight-forward song direction with the evil-grimly sounding riffing and the slower oriented from the song just give me a moment to breath. And to make it's more interesting, the last song from the rehearsal tape, "Brutal Ritual" have two phase of structure which they're played. The heavy-poundead riffing with the old school vibe style and the mid-tempo beat end this tape pretty good to me.

Maybe some of you will not like this releases, unless you're one of those guys that loves early period of underground releases, the raw and noisy taste of sound production and low fi death/thrash (black) then you should listen to Corpsereaper, this is will be you happy boneyard moment and this rehearsal  tape has some of the old production feels and I totally enjoy as a fan of old underground style release which I think is hardly to find any band has delivered this kind of method and style nowdays.

Retribution for the Dead : Vomit (Chile)

Begin to lose the light and the undead creatures still didn't sleep from dusk till dawn.

+ +

My mail door's was knocked by another Chilean bands. If you still out in the dark, please enter your houses before it's too late. This is the story of insane worshippers that obsessed by the unlights of exorcism, pure sickness and evil like Possessed!

VOMIT was conducting by the evil spirit of Possessor, it's remains as personal project before Sepulchre & Agonizer join the ritual to vomiting and delivered all their soul to Deathrash ghouls! "Desecration" demo probably the most hell-awaits for Possessor, seem all the songs or even the riff's was saved in his deadbrains for such long times.

"Desecration" demo, was like you stand and walk alone in lonely-gloomy street on your shortest times of life. In the meantime, the evil obscure crushing melodies was played by the night-grimreaper, you can't run or hide from your dead destiny.

The first tracks from the demo, "The Offering" totally in high feel's of Possessed touch, the tracks opened by screamer solo on the ugly tab guitar's. It's such a good song to opened the demo. Yeah! sometimes the first tracks are the mainly factor for us not to skip for the next tracks. I found many interesting of riff's guitar on their second tracks, It's was fully pure of ripping flesh! On other side, the faster you try to catch their crushing sound and melodies, more slowly you will thrashing into the sounds of death. I'm a dreamer, and it's give me some classic feeling from the past, more obscure and rawness of sounds.

To skip another vomiting, the flavor of old crushing sound production, and simply mid-paced beat and the season of the abyss from the solo guitars make "Desecration" demo will be my top spinning playlist. And, please keep in your deadbrains, that Chile always a good factory for any kind of Metal by Death tunes. As Possessor say before the dawn, VOMIT was re-birth to give a little tribute to Possessed, and without any doubt the debut demo was totally turn up in very good records, just pure insane of old classick Death 'ripping' Thrash!

Just grab your copies from Vonfrost records before too lated and lets the ghouls possessed and bring yours stinky rotting soul into the glorious 80's Deathrash era!

VOMIT BY THE UNDEAD!

Critical Madness : Nefarious "S/T" demo tape

A big hug to Julian Walter because sending me couple of copies of Nefarious debut 'crushing' demo tape. Nefarious, basically re-animators in 2016 by ex-members of Vesicants / Attack Imminent somewhere over places called, Illinois. There always a moment when the clock stop clicked, the times turn to the past and that times you try to remember what happened back in then. Here comes the lurking corpses, bringing back the old death/thrash formula's.... Past always will be remembered and future will tells no lies!

+ + +

Stinky rehearsal rooms down deep into the basement + nasty mini compo recorders + Slayer "Angel Of Death" formations + Possessed "Seven Churches" + Hellhammer / Celtic Frost and little hints about the old rebel 'Punk' junkish? This combinations pop up into my mind firstly when I put the black colour tapes on my cassette player. Raw of old death thrashing metal !!! Its tasted raw, like some old bands in the past do. Mainly death-highlights here probably should be the classickos old catchy / heavy thrashing riff's in underground modes from their songs.  Just listen to the first trax from the demo, "Merciless Hound", faster and heavy changing riff's + old skansk death-beat tempo, it's sure classick and pure enough! I like how their created their own "old raw" sound productions and I found some might interesting solo guitars on "Where Death Lurks" that make the ending of their debut demo look more greats and sure will be turn very classic in futures, and there was a feeling you want some encore when you see them played alive in fronts of you.

The 12:47 minutes of "horror-occult" atmospheres (for both sides) fill up with rough and raw voices from the darkness totally the heavy ones that I've listen so far this years. Yeah! more expect to come! Totally recommende(a)d for all demo tapes collectors. Death to deathster! Dead man tells no tales somewhere over the graveyards, just hold your breath and try to reach your hands into their debut demo! Sure it's makes you smile and suffering the old syndrome of death thrashings tunes!!
