Retributions for the Dead : Into the reflections of dismal depths

What we've today on "Retributions for the Dead" might be a little summary what I might left to rot from the past. Sometimes I'm just slipped or drowned with all great release that come out, and forgive me about that!

Tampa / Florida seem the best tomb to find deathmetall band. That also doesn't mean Tampa / Florida scene always produced a reeking-ugly, raw and putrid stuff every years, at least there are some bands that crawling from these places sometimes got my attentions. Beyond of that gory years, maybe there a couple of worthy bands may you should festering and reeking for if you need some crushing deathmetall, and here I brought to you, old rotting 'Tampa' deathmetall, VACUOUS DEPTHS!

There was a member changes from VACUOUS DEPTHS since their started back then, it's a naturally rotting-decomposition process of band journey and with Austin  (Vocal / Guitars), Joey Harris (Drum) and Arturo Palomo (Bass) the band definitely will be rotting more after this.

"Demo 2017" was their first debut demo, and it's actually out in digital version through their band'tomb back in the day, and I've just found out that GoatThrone Records will release this debut demo by VACUOUS DEPTHS onto pro tape-cassette for the first time. (I think Aaron Comos did a good job here to releases this underrated stuff) 

This is a very heavy and crushing-chaotic of deathmetall demo. Lots of groove-heavy-rotting riffs that VACUOUS DEPTHS created on this demo and sometimes make me remember of Obituary "Slowly we rot" musical styles. I also think that this demo sounde(a)d better from your expectation that you couldn't easily pass it off. The production of the demo, incredibly insane and have good touch on the final master by Patrick Brady! and it's more disgusting with Austin's voices on its. I love this kind of sing styles : it’s totally ugly, it’s disgusting and totally no filter till end of the song. Ugh!

I think the first impression totally the main factor (sometimes not actually) when you play a certain stuff, is how it's sounde(a)d on the first tracks. The opening tracks from the demo, "Sodomized" totally throw me rotting in deep of bottomless pit of grave immediately! Also tracks like "Black Anvil" and the following track “Graunt Reflections” both show incredibly heavy combinations of slow to mid paced parts that often flow in severed up tempo of classick styles of deathmetall. The guitars distortion / tones is so heavy fvcking brutal and there are several tempo or beat changes on the middle of the songs but to reeked this song decompositions ; it's totally crushing! Also the last tracks from the demo, "Human Compost" doesn’t drifted away from previous tracks, that rotting riffs and the open play parts from this song totally contribute in filling the flavor of stench of rotting decompositions on this demo. Loved how it's ende(a)d! 

A little write up for the cover arts of this demo, I personally loved how Stephen / Meatballgrinder illustrated the full cover and insert for this release, it's totally amazing work by him and definitely perfect disgust and filthy enough with VACUOUS DEPTHS music. 

To be honest, it's totally enjoyable demo to be listen with a slow and heavy crushing sound of old deathmetall with a max volume of dirtiness on it's and it's probably will rotting yours up! To final putrefying, another pure-disgusting, filthy extreme gnarly and rotten stuff that you should checks, VACUOUS DEPTHS have all this feel!

What we've today on this ugly tomb? Of corpse we're still talk about filthy and putrid deathmetall! More raw ridden deathmetall directly to your ugly face!

For those who recognise Thomas Prasser, and his work with Putrid Torso you might know that him now also work with a new band project, old rotting kind of deathmetall style, Pile Of Skulls. The first demo are completed rotting done few weeks ago and a little teaser are up if you might interested how it's reeking and with the help from Rogga Johansson on vocal and Izi on drums, "Horrifying Death" Demo totally will bring you back how the death metal underground works and sounde(a)d back in the early 90's. Let me say, this demo totally suit for those consider themselves a demo tape (worm) lover / collector also for those who lives in that era too!

The demo features four tracks of raw sounding US death metal style (include one gloomy-horror intro) and it's reminds me alot of slow-ridden death of Autopsy styles and the music is played with a touch and combination of slow doom - mid tempo kind of de-composition of deathmetall and the demo features a raw yet detailed of sound production. Of corpse you'll loved it´s more when you digging more deeply about this demo, the sound production is still sounde(a)d good in first touch.

The most amazing thing about this entire demo is the absolutely stunning vocal from Rogga Johansson. It's show of the most rotten sounding vocal styles with low gruff growls and screams, really loved Rogga Johansson sing style on this demo! The riff guitar work as a whole on the demo is rather simple (not so fvcking simple actually) and not too technical too. Pile Of skulls still manages to pull out some incredibly original and brutal - heavy - raw guitar riffs. They are crunchy, fast, and to the fvcking slow-doom at the same times. Also a credits to the bass section, it's totally heavy distortede(a)d!

I can't get enough rotting actually, "Upon a pile of skulls", "World of murder", "Trails of the terrible", and "Bled out and hung to dry" just show Pile Of Skulls can wrote more insanely notes of old kind deathmetall in the future. It's totally enjoyable demo and sometimes may twisted sounding and very creative song de-composition. The demo was produced by Alexander Dietz and it's successfully delivering all the filthy, rotting and putrid atmosphere on this demo. 

"Horrifying Death" have all the ingredient that you need ; disgusting, raw, and dirty old deathmetall. This is the kind of death metal demo that is actually horrifying and slowly rotting at the same times on your ears, the whole putrefaction of the demo has showing how raw, reeking, murky sound that Pile Of Skulls try to fester! Really fvcking loved this debut demo by Pile Of Skulls and drawn me to the fvcking early era of underground deathmetall again.

Critical Madness : Darkening towards the dream of.. Inevitable Doom!!

Another thing that cannot be understated is how good Russian band like Pyre, Wombripper, Torn Aparts to name a few mutilating the sound of old death metal again! and it's really good to now another Death Metal-ghouls that crawl from the stench rotting air of Moscow, and here.. ABSORPTION! (Thanks Sergei :) )

ABSORPTION was Mortican (Vocal/Bass/Guitar), Patolog (Drums) and Suffocate (Guitar). Their was around the murky swamp since 2017 and according to my ugly and disgusted personal sound tastes, ABSORPTION sounds really stink in down-deep of my rotting ears so far. Purelentttttttt!!!

"Inevitable Doom" demo was a first release by the band and it's was recorde(a)d around March 2018 at Distemper Studio / Moscow. Contained 4 track include the horror intro and outro that sound creepy enough! "Inevitable Doom" demo really good in terms of sound production with clean (darkness) sound coming from my speaker that prove the

band really worked hard for this releases and know how too created a fvcking real good death metal song in slicing a song with deathgrind riffing, brutal-catchy-crunchy riffs guitar, slower doomier and few style of solo guitar. Generally, I know how the underground death metal reacted after their listen to "Inevitable Doom", and of corpse all of you sickhead will loved this demo!

In rotting deep of "Inevitable Doom" bowels, tracks like "Obscuration" with grimly-gory cut-throat screaming in the early of the song and few catchy example riffs from "Poisoned Brood" just take my mind slowly festering the whole creation of "Inevitable Doom" demo. While stink-stench atmosphere embedead from the demo's, you can feel the variations of song structure / sections really stand out part by part.

Critical Madness : Crematory.. in Convulsing Human Enormity

It's been awhile this ugly website been updated, but will come here sit more often and write more review about your favourite Death Metal demo's tape, and also the year of 2018 really packed with numerous filthy-putrid demo releases. So here another of old death.. from Sonoran desert. UGH!

What we've in this rotting cemetery ghoul! Indeed, the carving for ugly and disgusting old school death metal still reeking and putrid stink! We've two latest demo's tape releases from ENGULFER.  Nothing beyond the death from Arizona, USA and leeching the murky cemetery with raw-heavy-splatter lo-fi old death metal. Total primitive!

ENGULFER was Aidan .A on drum/guitar/vocal and Devin .G bass/vocal. Some of you might know that I'm totally freaky-demo tape worship, loved the stench-raw sound production, underproduced-song structure and simply straight forward song decomposing.  It's all you can get and rotting while listening to all of demos. The first encounter of slurping the crematory by ENGULFER was born in "Rotted" somewhere around 2018. 3 tracks demo, short but totally putrid-disgusting style of Death Metal, low as fvck guitar tones, unreadable words from the sing style simply cavernous-dods for me. Ghouls! just plug in and put this demo on high volume!  Also that riff's from "Devoured" song just wanna make me punch someone face. Ha!

The first demo from ENGULFER just pay the way to greater path to death gore-glory! Beyond of dead, second demo by the band "Convulsing Human Enormity" are have doom slow-death approach than the previous demo, loved that sound of one-hit cymbal style from the first track on the demo. Short, and gruesome vocals on the 3 effective tracks from "Convulsing Human Enormity" just for sick deadhead. Another band who put their passion/flavor, and demonstrating there's no need for crazy trigger-blasts-beat in death
metal!

Retributions for the Dead : The epitome of putrid and rotting piles on "Undead Abyss"

We've already entering the half crypt of 2018 and the list of rotting death metal demo is never endless. I'm quiet remember the day I received Sepolcro's Festering Evocation demo in my mail, it's was few years ago and today once again I was drowned again when I received a news from Hannes that Sepolcro will ripping the flesh again with another new demo via Unholy Domains Records. There always ugly things that you can't change from the past, from how much this music already develop and quick crawled and infected the underground scenes. For me, Italian Death Metal-Underrrrground scenes always special to me. From the maniac, label, and the bands, and therefore so much filthy places around the tomb get surrounded by the burial fog in here, so many sick-disgusting music was born to make the legion of dead awake and festering the phlegm. It's was a good places to say for the underground fans to lived by. 

Much like countless other bands, Sepolcro is fulfilled with tons of surprise in their career so far, I mean the band have releasing a demo, what we called it "Festering Evocation" back in 2013, a split with Presumed Dead and later on decide to buried alive the band. The latest news that I heard, Hannes Delbello was involved with Ruptured and managed to released a demo called "Blurred Vision" demo last years. 

Short of rotting filthy, Sepolcro back with three 'rotting-putrid-ugly' tracks demo on "Undead Abyss". From 'Undead Abyss' into ugly skansk dead-beat on 'The Edge Of Infinity', the demo production gives me a impression that the release is likely straight from the early 90's, although at times will quick bring you into Autopsy 'Mental Funeral' mood. The raw-devastated sound just creepy and the filler of bones-crushing tones are totally enjoyable and the progressions between each tracks uniquely soundead very original and perfectly blend. The early intro and slow-paced on 'Bone Totem' possibly may distinguished the fact and you'll loved this tracks and drowned into the vocal pains. It's really doesn't matter if it's end like other Autopsy's song, Sepolcro just created their own rotting filthy misery with this song. My favourites tracks so far and you can't deny the putrid vibe! 

The three tracks Sepolcro provide you in "Undead Abyss" demo just pure with raw and putrid-pile death metal composed that is the ugly intent on severing into yours fvcking bones. Extremely filthy-disgusted sounding and all the ghoulish from Sepolcro knew exactly how a death metal should soundead with dirty production-mixed on studio. "Undead Abyss" demo  is almost the perfect death metal demo in 2018 so far!

Don't missed out "Undead Abyss" demo, it's just fvcking awesome old school death metal been wrot(t)en and does everything absolutely right on time. Yes, it’s maybe been done before and tons of band already put some high-end echoes to the music, but this is simply – putrid rotting death metal . It’s only a demo, and myself indeed just loved every demo's feel. 

Retributions for the Dead : Towards.. Fate! and the calling of death.

France always delivered most prominent old death metal band from the past years. That doesn't mean their always produced more ugly and stinky stuff every years, at least there some bands that crawling from these country always my favor one. Parts of that, there a couple of worthy bands you should festering for if you need some devastatingly tunes, and here I presents you, Paris old rotting death metal-mongers, TOWERING!

"Towards Fate" demo which contains only two tracks are ready for listening on their bandcamp and physical copies of tape can be ordered from Impurity Production. In the process of rotting on "Towards Fate" demo, the band successfully writing back the old fvcking formula of death with their unique and interesting sounds and pulverising my ears with an heavily tones of riffs. The demo might be turn up little bit crunchy on the sound production, but it's rotting enough for my taste!

Short, and pure regurgitated two tracks demo but the heavy-pounding and crunchy rotting guitar riffing, instantly drive you into other places and the reconnected between the rotting melody, which I think really good and should be remarked their existence on the unholy ground. "Towards Fate" demo also show the band have stability on the instrument handle and sensibility in songwriting. If you hope the sound feeling from a filthy-murky and smell fvcking basement-sounding death metal demo you'll got on here too, but in other parts of the roots music foundations and evolution. Listening to the "The Calling", with rotting fast-slowly-heavy death of song structure and mid-temp paced approach on the mid of the song just gain the momentum for you rewind back into the first track. The well-timed torture-throat vocal enters on early parts from the second tracks was a places a good as well. Beyond of that, it's just death, rotting, sick sound have been produced by the band on this demo.

"Towards Fate" demo are surprisingly give me a vibe of heavy sound of old death metal whats I need for, driven onward (into Golgotha) and just let me rot on the final hecatomb of the demo. Rotting favor for old death-mongers fans and let's waits for the debut album! The dead is coming!

Critical Madness : NECRO-E "Assemblage of Emanated Embryo" Demo / Tape

It's quite interesting when Takashi Tanaka introduced the band directly to me back then, and I can't believed what the band was done almost 26 years ago totally never been banished in the rotting memory lane from some of us. Firstly, let's give a big rotting credit's to John from Von Frost Records to make this dream comes to dread. It's definitely a special exclusive re-issue that I think a 'must have' records for the old fans of this Japanese obscure and primitive Death/Doom and to all analog-demo-gravedigger! Thanks Takashi for hitting me up again with this tape.

"Assemblage of Emanated Embryo" demo was the band's second demo after the gore-birth of "Beginning of the Death" Demo in 1991, also the years when "Devoured Periphery" Demo was unleash too. It's not a quite mysterious and interesting when a band that already put 3 demo's in one year and after that recalled for the official split up? Only Minoru Kameizawa and Yoshio Hasegawa know the truth and I found some live footage of 'Oozing Child' on the Youtube, and it's totally a killer show and performances by the band and the crowds to be remember and just looking this old video I'm pretty sure it's was taken almost a decades ago. (Correct me if I'm wrong)

"Assemblage of Emanated Embryo" demo contains 12 songs definitely to be played in mostly low tunes of Death/Doom ways. From mid-tempo Death Metal to slower death/doom just give me a times to relax and embede(a)d my walk across the rotting carcass body. Also, there will be a huge putrid-stench of grind vibe was festered on this demo will puts you off constantly if you're not a fans for this style of rotting lo-fi productions. Some song just been slicing in very short of time, it's like you've just been left in gloomy graveyards, rotting decompose alone and eaten alive by the worms and you can spot that from the tracks 'Untamed Anathema', 'Unmerciful Mist', 'Shock on Intensities' and 'Mass Murder'. It's totally short and delivered a numerous obscure atmosphere or feels from the songs. I'm actually gotten some shock when listening to 'Unmerciful Mist', the Punk flavor and drum beat in the early of the song totally caught my ears. At the moment, I just recognised NEKRO-E actually put a very creative idea on each of the song and try approach the flavor with their own putrid style. Try listen to 'Assemblage of Emanated Embryo' tracks, the speaking style despite of growls beyond the chorus of the song probably the main highlight for me. Ha! Loved that tracks! Also the gloomy-filth melody on 'Beyond the Gates' and the outro-'Decaying the rain' just build up and reconjured the demo atmosphere.

From the mostly slow rotting low tune-paced on 'Under Destruction' tracks and to heavy-grinding death riff's from the 'Boiling Gore', NEKRO-E just put a really fvcking awesome demo back then and Von Frost Records probably put this ugly and disgusting demo in very special reissue-editions of pro-tape. The one in my hand are the brand new arts and layout was done by Mark Riddick. It's a yellow 'mustard' shell tape / cases and out in very limited 69 copies. There also have a 2nd version for this demo with the original art work and come out with high quality J-cards and it's only been press with black shell w/white cases and out in very limited to 31 copies only.

It's a good and killer reissue release both come from the label and the band. And looking how the label handling this reissue of NEKRO-E demo totally make me satisfied and fvcking happy forever!

Critical Madness : FUNEREALITY "Flabby Folds of Flesh" Demo / Tape

I never seen any Death Metal band that worship AUTOPSY more than FUNEREALITY! It's the fact! The previous EP, "Goregeous" , contains pretty much of unspeakable shitfun-work that turn to be a good classick release in my opinion and pushes it's more into extremely rotting and disgust level both from song and lyrics that embalmed from that EP. It's already done on the "Funeral for A Fuck", "Leeches" or "Deathwish" demo and I only can hope, Gusten Andlos can carry out more filthy, stink and disgusting stuff in the upcoming years.

"Flabby Folds of Flesh" Demo are brand new 'gut-eater' from FUNEREALITY. With infamously 'disgusting-bluerragghhh' vocal style, distortion-heavy poundead sound of bass and more extra doom riff's was present, Gusten Andlos are doing it's alone and successful again. Of corpse there are some memorable tunes on here, between the AUTOPSY's slow of doomier-trademark and the raw vibe of Severed Survival anthem. Gusten Andlos swirling out the tunes in very freshly of vile slicing meat and some riff's that easy for you to remember and humming, just like the first track from the demo, 'Pigs'. "Flabby Folds of Flesh" Demo also proved the Punk's flavor can't be separated away, I know the band have pretty much obsessed by some 'raw-pang' tune, you generally can spotted the riff's was build in very simple and straight to the ugliness of the song and with the flowing from the drums beat, rolls and blast just sound very filthy neat between the fast-slow paced. Gusten Andlos's vocals also the main factor and dominate the ugly atmosphere from the demo, with rotten shriek directly from his rotten bowel, the sick deranged styles just give some special feeling listening to the demo. 

The musical and lyrics just offer an within disgusted and more obsession method, but the majority of the song are played in very shorted. These recently era, when the revival of Old School Death and plenty of band just pay homage to old classick sound of death and take an influences from the mighty AUTOPSY, it's pretty hard to deny their incarnation and to cut off what FUNEREALITY are doing and festering for, are the big mistake you've done. I'm glad "Flabby Folds of Flesh" Demo still sounded like previous FUNEREALITY stuffs and still worship the charred-disembowel and mind-blowing AUTOPSY's cadaver tunes. A lot of shitfun-work, sinking and shit on the grave environment from the demo on the run almost 10 minutes are really worthy for those dig all AUTOPSY's and FUNEREALITY works. 

The new demo are out in very super-limited-editions of 'home-dubb' tape, and I must say, I'm just a lucky person among the 13th deadhead who get the chances to hold FUNEREALITY new demo. "Flabby Folds of Flesh" Demo is a complete disgusting new work done Gusten Andlos and I hope there are label will re-release it's again in the future in pro-press cassette.

Retribution for the Dead : Enter the horror dimensions of.... "Chamber of Laments"

If you one of DEATH METAL-Underground gravedigger, you maybe familiar with a name of 'Uriel Aguillon' - A rotting man beyond of Morbicus, Cannabis Sative, Pyrophoric, Gutwrench, Rotting Away, Cryptic Realm and another band that I loved so much, NECRORITE!  Uriel Aguillon should require no long introduction when came to DEATH METAL, he knows how to make it's and what the best flavor to make it's more ugly and disgusting one! And here, I presented to you a brand new DEATH METAL project that him worked for, VORUS!

I much dig all music that Uriel Aguillon worked with NECRORITE before and with VORUS, I founde(a)d something new and fresh that might him create and probably cemented directly into other side of my deadbrains. "Chamber of Laments" Demo definitely comes with good song arrangements-structures, horror-melodies and will remains (rotting) as one of my favorites Death Metal demo releases in 2017. 

"Chamber of Laments" Demo contains three song that spawned onto the old-premature DOD'S burial session, straight forward and catchy song, and it's just take you around 2-4 minutes for a song and delivered of mid/fast paced of old fashioned Death Metal with total ripping-rotting riff's guitar, double attack on the bass drums and grunt-ranged 

mid growls by the master himself. There are some interesting parts from the song, that got my deadbrains : froze and burning! The productions of the demo still heavier out from Uriel Aguillon touches on the final productions, Those riff's with heavy-distortions and anger-aggressive approach especially on 'Where Misery Crawls' and that 'doomier to the death' parts on this songs just show us another re-awakening Uriel Aguillon ability to create a new dimension of horror-dark Death Metal atmosphere.

Just hope there will another release after "Chamber of Laments' demo, and for those seem hold the old school Death-banner just give a chances listen up to VORUS. It's worthy for you to check!

Critical Madness : CASKET "Ghouls Of Filth" Demo / Tape

For those consider themselves a true or the gravedigger the early 90's Old sound of Death Metal will loved the final result on "Ghouls Of Filth" Demo, and I recently though to myself how lucky I am to knew the existence of this band, CASKET. The band was hailing from Germany and conducted by Marco Brinkmann,the debut demo by CASKET also show how great this man handling all the studio recording process parts and it's just flow like that before S.Genozider come to lay down his effort on the rotten drum-tomb set. This is the type of demo that can't easily faded away from your head after just listen once, a lot of greatness from the old chamber of Death Metal prevails and unleash the outstanding sound that came out stink on this 4 track demo's. Less of that, "Ghoul Of Filth" Demo it's definitely worthy for someone that loved all the "slowly-death" anthem by Autopsy, Obituary and Asphyx.  

Mostly from the song de-compositions on this demo are wrote in simply straight forward writing that maybe some of us thought it's a experimentation that came blast from the past or even the key that holder to re-open the dark and doomy atmosphere from the demo. I'm surely can say, it's a point that show or even proved the band already heading towards to the greatness path what some Death Metal band left this recent days. CASKET takes a few step into the old coffins generally from the music with their own flavor and horror-disgusting trademark.

All "dirty-filthy" track from "Ghouls Of Filth" Demo offered a classick rotting sound of Death Metal. It's served by the grimly-heavy riff's guitar tones on every track and certainly meet up between Death Metal and Doom Metal path. This classick combination you can softly spot filled up and created the dark landscapes that maybe spark from your amps. The first track from the demo, "Flesh Winter" has started the real musical that CASKET brought, it's really short from duration of times and was ended up by doomy paced that lead to the second track that sounded more heavy than previous one and embalmed all the Autopsy's feel. This epic style of slow-riffing guitar's give a new dimension just in few more second before the solo guitar's festering the whole creation of "Ghouls Of Filth" tracks. The second tracks maybe the highlight tracks on this demo if you asked me. And I'm really loved how this tracks flow and fill-up on the groovy beat.

From the darkness that prevails from "Ghouls Of Filth" Demo, the sound of crunchy heavy riff's and buzz-bass line played will smashed directly into your head. Something that probably hit's my head up, is Marco's voice. It's definitely distorts-monster-chocked growls represented from deep of rotting side of his own throat and give us numerous deathbreath to all song from the demo and I think his vocal approach on the demo are the important part how much heavy and disgusting brutal the demo has produced. The stand-out screams-yell from "Covered In Guts" track and mid-paced aggression beat turn in very well and make the demo end up with glorious feels. 

On the final crawl from the "Ghouls Of Filth" Demo, I'm really enjoy what CASKET already done, from the slower riff's into rotting-rancid riff's work well together and cherish all the atmosphere from the demo. The horror-vibe remains from the start into the end of the demo was played and it's just pure sickness of Doom to the crushing Death Metal sound.

The Edinburgh dark-melodic Death/Doom, WOLF SERMON swirling my head this recent days like a crazy-ultra fast roller coaster. As I was listening to their first demo release that was unleash in 2016, I thought to myself that I need to come up with a full wake up energize on my brains. This is how Death Metal can be turn in a very good way or meant to be played, and you can't say no to the terms of heavy-dry of melodies tones from Death Metal creation. Simply will trap on your mind after skip your lunch time. Ha!

Those fans of old - At The Gates, Unanimated, Dark Tranquillity, and Dismember "Massive Killing Capacity" and "Where Ironcrosses Grow" era will definitely loved what WOLF SERMON already delivered and for those who enjoyed the first demo by WOLF SERMON would have a chance to dig a quite potential directly from this band and for those are not familiar to the terms of dark-melodic will be finally introduced on this 4 track demo's and maybe can tell you, sometime heavy work in melodic structure can bring a new vibe or sense to the Death Metal dirty landscapes.

The demo starts with a horror-sample dialogue that barely open up the mood through the demo. "Pagan Skin" directly deliver a high aggression to the atmosphere and the fast-ripping heavy of guitar riffs just straightly to your heads. "Pagan Skin" are build in very complex structure and been added with the mid-paced tempo between the fast and slow beat phrase, while you can spotted speeds things up on this song will generally changes after two phrase.

The band perfectly emerged some of my old memories from the Swedish "melodic" Death Metal bands and the heavy-crunchy guitar sound that may be sounded little similar to the Boss HM-2 will crack up for those listen to the demo. I guess Amarog and Jack Vincent perfectly created very good combinations between the rhythm's or riff's section. The demo by WOLF SERMON also show, how good the part of lead solo slaughtered, representing and approach on their song. Melodic, harmonised and sometimes reach the high climax of the fret.

In addition how great the demo was, the howl-sick-throat growled style by Baron serve the dark-heavy melodies throughout the songs and Baron's voices on track like "Violent Art" or "Pillars of Vengeance" just show us how great his voices representative the creation of WOLF SERMON. "Never Hunt Alone" are very little faster with own way, the blast beat drumming by Grzeg invaded the song atmosphere and introduced how fits and strongest him on the back seat of the band and handle the whole melodic-death landscapes from this demo. Fast! and it's totally pieces of violent arts hammered!

There no highlight track from the demo, seem all the tracks stand-out alone and sounded good to my ears and WOLF SERMON debut demo just show the real gigantic what will turn in the future from their side. Grimly, dark and simply of melo-death!  All track in "Demo 2016" by WOLF SERMON is total ears listening-punishing or even the final torture for those loyal to the early days of Swedish "melodic" Death Metal. With the heavy-fat-dry tones, the demo prevails the old classick fashioned melodic Death Metal in brutality ways and it's really turn well in terms of sound, song writing/decompose and the level that the band already dwell within. Get it now from Carvetii Productions! This one is a must hear Death Metal demo-release! And, I hope will listen more "Slaughter of the Soul" tunes from the band in the future.

Retribution for the Dead : Grave desecration on the feeble minded!

Another bands that I need to write their names on my "Best of Death Metal Demo" release list of 2017, even way their coming and festering the rotting decay from the HC / Crust Punk scene and embalmed the old-good memories of the "Harmony Corruption" and "Slowly We Rot" album vibe. I've my own reason why HIDEOUS CREEP really blew my mind and got my stand-up / crosses hands. I'm still believed to create and write a good Death Metal band / song it's must started and filled up with the Punk attitude / flavor. If you think it's beyond your fvcking relief or maybe you can't stand with the ethics, just listen to the mighty Discharge!

HIDEOUS CREEP featuring members of previous bands like TOTES BRUTE, TRIPPING CORPSE and DISPARA. To brick another wall of dead, a dose of Crust/Grindcore tunes been injected to HIDEOUS CREEP sound and created a really "stand-out" sound of production from the demo that the band have release. And I must say, I already fall and trap with their debut demo that sound very thick and make me go back to the memories of lane, and sometime it's just remind me the "Morrisound" memories.

The band have release a brand new demo in 2017, and I've a chance to listen to that demo and it's quite justifiable that "2nd Demo" by HIDEOUS CREEP is widely considered to the real quote of Punk and Grindcore in general and been mixed with a groovy touch from the Death Metal ingredients. HIDEOUS CREEP had already laid down the tombstones for a new extremity within Crust Punk / Grindcore or even in Death Metal music.

Just imagine the grind-mixed between Obituary / Napalm Death / Discharge in one final pots, and you got "2nd Demo" on the result! Songs were played in short time, played at mid-paced tempo and simply you can't feel the tracks already been change. Riffs were near to the ripping-fast changed side of fret, and giving a greater continuity to the songwriting process. The process of build up a song comeside with a crunchy-strum, and the ridden of the bass / guitar, has play the compartment in the most ugliest jiggling way and disgusting accompany by grunt-vilest growling vocal styles.

You also can heard a competition running between the guitar and drum on the song, the mostly justifiable grind riffs and ultra-blast beat in more greatness! Second demo by HIDEOUS CREEP just show me the real connection between Death Metal and Punk-mangle sound.

To cut it all, the second demo by HIDEOUS CREEP is well produced, and the demo just filling up my room with an insanely-raw fat sound. And HIDEOUS CREEP are the band that you need to caught up again if you have miss the "Harmony Corruption" and "Slowly We Rot" era. I'm happy to add, HIDEOUS CREEP already bring back the lost part from the Grindcore sound and emerged with their own madness. Total mangle!

Critical Madness : GRAVEWARDS "Subconscious Lobotomy" Demo / Tape

In other left-hand (path) there's a tons of most-talented unknown bands out there that are trying to do something fresh!  And nowdays, it's really good to see what going around the Death Metal-Underground scenes. Of corpse! now we are getting floored with Swedish Death Metal clones/tribute bands but I pretty guess it's regurgitation from the past how this things started back then. Along my walk into the river of death, I just found another quite potential and hardworking quarter Old School Death Metal band that you need to seek after this!

Rotting away from Athens, Greece!

The macabre tales of GRAVEWARDS started back in 2015 when the choir of death has singing down by the death-ripper, and there was Niko (Vocal / Guitar), Fotis (Bass) and Vasilis (Drum) hold tight their passion and aiming to delivered their own style of DEATH METAL towards the madness! The macabre tales never tell us the lies... here we're representing the first debut demo by GRAVEWARDS! 

GRAVEWARDS drawn (in blood) all the dark atmosphere from "Subconscious Lobotomy" Demo with a surprisingly and variety of music structure. Generally, GRAVEWARDS represents Old School Death Metal in many varied ways with their own styles. Among the filth tunes, you can spotted some technical or melo-thrash metal riff's floored on the band song. It's quite interesting or may average sounded for someone who loved the "simple-straight forward" stuff like me, but believed me it's turn out very freshly when a lot of non-complex elements or not even much "fvcking brutal technical" parts has crushing from beginning of the demo when you played it's. There are only four tracks on the long duration "20 : + + minutes" on "Subconscious Lobotomy" Demo, and GRAVEWARD definitely will give you a dozen of quality from their music. Track like "Crawling Chaos" contained such a very heavy rotting-riffs, mid-temp of beat and disastrous bass-monger  that I think can providing you the final completely of macabre death metal. Each song from the demo has something to offer and coloring the path onto a different ways. Also, all the tracks from "Subconscious Lobotomy" Demo already proved how good musicianship GRAVEWARDS have!

And... just like how good GRAVEWARDS dismembered their music alongside a different kinds mix of elements, in other darkside Niko just slaughter his throat with a nicely monster-growl. I really like how Niko's singing and it's remember me a voices from Tomi Koivusaari from Amorphis and John Tardy from Obituary. You know that monster-growls from “Tales from the Thousand Lakes”? or "Slowly We Rot" album? 

To wrath all, this demo straightly ruptured a heavy-grooves and slice decompose from  Old Death Metal period, On other way, which I think it's totally perfect for the band to record all the tracks in proper studio. Just thanks to Made In Hell studio, the final result will describe how good the sound have been produced! I'm really impressive when I got a chances to listen the "Subconscious Lobotomy" Demo and it will be exciting to see what GRAVEWARDS will offering and satisfy again my filthy music tastes in the future!

Critical Madness : ROTTED "Pestilent" Promo demo / tape

I guess my small room already divided into two parts, first in the clean section and other one, probably the most stink and disgusting. Managed to do the re-collection in the future. Let see!

The corpse beyond the creation of ROTTED, Dylan jones already told us before in our last conversations in this web-blog, how heavy and disgusting this band can goes by. (You can read my interview with him / ROTTED on here). ROTTED managed to records and festering the ground with this two track song in mostly sick, putrid and stenching way of death.

In behalf of "Pestilent" promo demo, it's contained alot of stink-decay and disgusting flavor, and sometimes it's turns very good and twisted-distorted dry on the tones of sound. Track like "Pestilent Tomb" configure a massive and simple forward song writing that blend and decompose with a heavy-crunchy-thick of guitar tones and deep ugly howling-growl. Just loved this tracks. And to end this suffer, "Rotted Remains" keep the atmosphere around the forgotten tomb warming, and full with stench-maggot rotten-decompose. UGLY!!

We need to see how the debut full-length from ROTTED going to be (rotten) this years..... AND, for sure ROTTED will be a good disgusting-choice for you to pick and listen what band you should worship this coming years. Keep your eye (bleed) to Dark Blasphemies Records, they will unleash ROTTED debut full-length album in Autumn 2017. Death Metal, with disgusting, stink, and rotting flavors! BLUEERRGHHHH!!!

Retribution for the Dead : World... (slowly rotten) and unraveled in putrefaction ways!

Something festering and malky around California-DM underground scene, the putrid process of rotting cadaver can be smell over the miles way. Unlike the other place from US, California are like a forgotten tombs for some of us, (maybe I also) and the dead can walk free among the corpses, eaten the human flesh, been buried, decompose and (carnal) leftover for thousand of years. Sometimes, it's really interesting to know a band that nailed from this rotten places.

DRAGHKAR was unbounde(a)d and repugnancy by BW (Guitar/Vocals) and AK (Drums). And without any long decaying, DRAGHKAR completed all the recording-putrid process in January, 2017 for the first attempt into the ground of madness. 

World... (slowly rotten) and unraveled 

"World Unraveled" demo successful delivered a reek of stench-decay guitar riffs tones, classick "stinky" beat-blasting, drowned-hellish growl-howling and followed by the rawness of stink atmosphere from the sound producing, which I think Derek Orthener and Andrew Lee totally lost their head (idea) for the invocation of DRAGHKAR first demo. The final result in "World Unraveled" demo totally slicing my ears!

The "Autopsy" feels can't be hide through the opening tracks from the demo. The combination between heavy-groove riffing, fast and (slowly-we-rot) tempo and accompany by the flesh ripping atmosphere, quickly make this tracks one of my favourites. "World Unraveled" demo also contained alot of creative idea in terms of the song-writing and decomposition. It's actually a examples how old stuff of Death Metal can be recycle and wrote it's agains with our styles and put it's in a stinky-cemetery with our own flavor. DRAGHKAR also featured a alot of thing from the characteristic of instrument-handle section. This is the best answer why Death Metal can be sounded more sick interesting and putrid when you take care yours instrument and always keeping it's out without a "mamstein" solo guitar! Ha! DRAGHKAR already proved the external way of Death Metal should sounded and played in "World Unraveled" demo. All the songs from the demo immediately showed and proved, DRAGHKAR are the last rotten missing puzzle-pieces for you to put it's back in Death Metal boards in terms of ugly and rotting decompose. 

Without long explanation, the band swallowed the high passion and loved to music what they played. DRAGHKAR played almost 10 + + minutes contained of most solid sound of Old School Death Metal in putrefaction ways and reveled by the classick sound of Finnish DM and can caught your ears and slowly make you drowned into nowhere in final mixtures of "World Unraveled" demo! Still a thousand rotting miles to go, hopefully the band will be successive and delivering a tons of sick and rotting stuff in the future. 

I think Jerasak from Witchhammer Production already done a good job to released a rotten-sick Death Metal stuff to us. Support the Death Metal-underground scenes!
